Equestrian sporting events and their surrounding culture have long been a catalyst for community engagement, celebration, and sporting excellence. In times of strife and division, this cultural magnet has brought people together, offering a sense of excitement and joy for centuries. The South Carolina Jockey Club, a 501(C)3 organization, proudly serves as stewards of this time-honored tradition, ensuring that future generations can experience the magic of equestrian sporting culture.

MAKING AN IMPACT

  • EQUESTRIAN GRANTS + PROGRAMMING

    Elevating the individuals and businesses already working to preserve this tradition in South Carolina will be the core focus of the new Jockey Club, particularly in its inaugural year. The Club has partnered with one of the state's largest equestrian events—The Steeplechase of Charleston—to use their platform as a launchpad for a series of philanthropic initiatives.

  • EQUESTRIAN CENTER DEVELOPMENT

    Charleston is ripe for a full-service equestrian center that caters to both industry professionals and enthusiasts. A city that once boasted more than a dozen racecourses now has just one, and in recent history, there has been no centralized hub for equestrian activities. We plan to change that. The South Carolina Jockey Club will develop a world-class equestrian center featuring event space, stabling, and lodging. Future plans for the campus also include hospitality elements, such as a restaurant and venues for non-equestrian events.

  • SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP + HOSPITALITY

    Community will be the driving force that helps the Jockey Club achieve its philanthropic goals. Our aim is to foster a family-like culture, encouraging members to socialize and advocate for our shared mission. We will collaborate with local businesses and organizations across the state to create a membership program that is both exciting and meaningful. We are also thrilled to be partnering with the national media group Garden & Gun to curate the benefits and social experiences that come with membership.

Our initial capital campaign of $1,000,000 is focused on establishing the critical foundation for a nonprofit organization that will make a lasting impact for generations to come.
